Which group has contributed more to America and our way of life? Who has contributed more to our overall well-being? Is it the National Rifle Association and the gun owners throughout America or the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and those who believe that gun ownership is dangerous for Americans?

My vote: Neither.
The attempts by our government to control gun manufacture/possession are as feeble as its attempt to control what we ingest. These “Prevent Gun Violence” bills are nothing but political campaigns, and the results are rights being taken away from law abiding citizens.
I am glad there are groups who try to shed light on these useless bills, but the NRA dabbles in much more then preventing gun control. While championing for one freedom, they support politicians who will put people in prison for growing, or even possessing, a plant.
It should be obvious to any gun owner that by banning one thing, it will not magically dissapear, but will sprout black markets out of the control of anyone. Terrorism is partly funded by drug sales, because of this black market the government has created. You aren’t going to destroy every drug-containing plant, just as you aren’t going to destroy every scary looking “Assault rifle”.
I think the left needs to take a much closer look at gun control and what it really results in (nothing), just as the right needs to look at the massive money wasting Drug War being conducted, and what it results in (zilch). If you are a member of the NRA, please ask them why they continue to support the war on drugs.
I am all for protecting ourselves and all that lovely American machismo, but if there WERE no guns being circulated legally, what would we have to protect ourselves against? (Unless you live in bear country, etc.) Honestly, if you were being held up at gunpoint, the first thought in your mind wouldn’t be, “I wish I had a gun.” It would be “I wish my attacker didn’t have a gun.” Of course there would be underground circulation of guns. There will always be black markets. People sell heroine underground, but that doesn’t mean we should let people sell heroine. It kills. So do guns. Perhaps if it’s the thrill of shooting something, or fear of being attacked that makes people want to keep guns, they should be loaded with instant tranquilizers instead of bullets. It would stop attackers, without killing them. It would stun deer long enough for them to be dragged away, no? Plus, the constitution says that we have the right to bear arms to fight in local militias against invading countries, or an oppressive government. How many gun owners are REALLY in a militia?

I have news for you world history has proven that Gun Control Kills! Guns can be built in a garage outlawing them only takes guns away from the victums making crime easer. The only way to stop crime is scare criminals. Much like our shoot the carjacker law here in Louisiana. When criminals know you have a gun they will find some liberal that is unarmed to atack.
The constitution says.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,shall not be infringed.
We have the right to protect ourselves. This has nothing to do with hunting.
And until you gun control nuts can explain how we were to protect ourselves from the fools in the NO riots here in Louisiana you should stop trying to kill us with your failed gun control.
If it was not for the NRA, the Brady Bunch would disarm America and we could not even defend them. The Brady(Hand Gun Control Inc.) Bunch would have all of America unarmed except for the criminals. The NRA and other Pro-gun groups stand up for our Consitutional Rights.
Our Framers and War Veterans died to perserve our Consitution and Bill Of Rights. Let’s not forget them!
Simple….the NRA. Regardless of the ” faults and failures ” of this organization preservation of our consitutional rights is imperative over anything else. While the Brady Folks work full force to strip honest law abiding citizen’s rights away they have been instrumental in contibuting to more crime. Gun control is not the answer…reinforcing firearm laws already on the books is the answer in conjunction with self initative to protect oneself with lawful firearm carry. While the Brady Liberals work to strip your rights….the nut case who started the whole mess by shooting President Reagan and Bill Brady was visiting his mom and dad to enjoy drinking eggnog over the holiday weekend. What is wrong with this picture ? Where is Sara Brady now…why is she keeping her mouth shut about this ?
