First of all, without guns less people would die. There would be no wars. Therefore, more people would like Bush. All of you who like guns are honestly retarded. Ask yourself, “Do I like killing?” How would you like it if someone killed your best friend, or mother, or better yet, YOU!! Well, I would not care, because if you like guns…you are an idiot and don’t belong on this planet. We need less morons anyways…amen.

I have been off parole for many years. I am not the same person who committed the crime. I have raised 3 wonderful children who are productive. Iam a Grandmother,a Business owner, property owner as well as care taker of my parents & 83 year old Grandmother. Would someone tell me what I have to do to get my gun rights back. SLassabe@aol.com

I Agree with you my husband has not had a conviction in 23years. I think that he should have the right to bear arm. Its not about what you was when you was young, It’s about who you are today. We need to do somthing about the misuse of our rights.

Louisiana RS code 14:95.1 tells you what must be done to get your gun rights back. The only thing that could stand in his way would be if there was a conviction of domestic violence.

I agree we need to end this nonsense, but like the anti-freedom folks perhaps we should nibble away at the easy ones first. GCA 68 will be a tough one in our current political climate. Our new Supreme may be able to help us with the NFA 34 repeal.

I want ‘96 Lautenburg Gun Ban repealed because it has directly affected me and others I know. Since 1996 Congressmen/women haven’t been able to garner the co-sponsorship to bring this one down, mainly I think because they don’t want to be seen as allowing domestic violence.

This bill was literally slipped into the 1996 Omnibus spending bill without notice and was passed without even a debate. It has been shown to be unconstitutional on many counts.

In 1993 I accepted a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence (my atty confirmed it wouldn’t affect my gun rights) in response to slapping my rebellious teenage son. A single offense, which 3 years later automatically made me a “prohibited person”. Now 13 years later I’m being charged with a felony because my son’s Ruger 10/22 was found in my home. I’m sorry but regardless of what several circuit courts around the US say, this is expost facto and unconstitutional. We learned that in 6th grade civics class!

I don’t have any problem with laws that are made public so a person would have knowledge of the consequences. But to take ones rights away retroactively is just NOT RIGHT! Even today judges do not warn defendants in domestic violence suits that they will lose their 2nd Amendment rights for life if convicted. If I had known that, I would have requested a jury trial and spent a fortune defending myself.

I know of another old timer that paid a $5 fine for domestic violence in 1947 and lost his rights and entire gun collection in 2000 due to this law. He is still happily married to the same woman 58 years later.

I’ve talked to many people over the years who haven’t any idea this can happen to an American citizen for a misdemeanor, after the fact!

It’s time to do something about our over zealous anti-freedom Congress, courts and laws.

Well that is a problem. As I understand it you can ask
for a parden and if granted you get back your rights.
