Gun control controls people
Why does the Courier-Post insist on promoting gun control? I’m convinced the news media, print and TV, are clueless. Mao-Tse-Tung said, “power comes from the barrel of a gun.” Gun control is not about controlling guns. It is about controlling people.
Remember the Brits sailed into Boston Harbor in 1775 and immediately occupied the city and disarmed the populace. The American war of independence started when Gen. Horatio Gates marched his troops to Lexington and Concord to seize the powder magazines, aka guns. The guns go away and the government will start telling the media what to print and say.
Wake up
Gun control is the first step to control by a tyrant. When is the news media going to wake up and realize that eliminating guns only means more control over all of us by the government? Does the media really think people in power answer to a higher calling? That they have some lofty ideal that they want to keep?
Gun violence is crap, gobbledegook, garbage and double-speak. Why don’t the police do their jobs? Why are they always looking for another way to control people instead of hunting down criminals?
Disarmament
Reasonable gun control? What’s reasonable? Total disarmament of the populace? Does that mean when the police and only the criminals have guns and the criminals are having a shootout, the police will herd all the nonshooting citizens into a safe building to protect us while the criminals shoot it out. Or will the politicians and police stand in front of the cameras and tell us they need more laws to control crime?
The police are not doing their job. They and the politicians keep looking for more ways to control people. People are getting more irresponsible because they are being lulled into a false sense of security over the people-control laws that have been enacted over the last 40 years.
Not effective
How effective are the laws just passed that forbid people from using hand-held cell phones? Not too effective. Every day, I see people on their cell phones on local roads and Interstate 295. The people don’t care. They will use their phones.
But, and here’s the big but, now the cops have a way of harassing people when they have no real reason to bother them. Gun control is about controlling people. How about the cops controlling the criminals?

The only way to save this country is to treat taxpayers like taxpayers and treat criminal like criminals.
